Mexican chocolate is an attraction in the tourism sector. Its ancestral gastronomic roots and its comparative advantages, which rest on the historical-geographical-pedological triad, make this product a distinctive and iconic figure in Tabasco and in the world. The objective of this study was to identify the differentiating attributes associated with Tabasco chocolate, as key components for the supply of services aimed at the cultural and gastronomic tourism segment. The research was developed through the qualitative method, with a systemic phenomenological approach; the use of in-depth interview techniques and participant observation were privileged. The main findings showed that, in addition to being the largest producer in Mexico, Tabasco chocolate products have culture and history given by their natural habitat.
