This review critically examines the work Pensar/Comer. Una aproximación filosófica a la alimentación (2023), by the Chilean philosopher Valeria Campos Salvaterra. Based on a reading and analysis of the book, the main arguments developed by the author regarding food as a fundamental dimension of human existence and as a legitimate object of philosophical reflection are highlighted. The review addresses Campos's critique of the historical distancing of Western philosophy from the acts of eating and cooking, as well as her arguments on the principle of incorporation and commensality as the foundation of community life. Likewise, the theoretical and methodological contributions of the work to contemporary gastronomic studies are assessed, underscoring its potential to strengthen the construction of conceptual frameworks around gastronomy, food, and their ethical, social, and cultural implications.
