This article explores whether the different scenarios and conditions of the peripheral territories of the municipality of Tlatlauquitepec are prone to take advantage of rural tourism, as participants in local development in the region and as drivers of the diversification and expansion of the tourist offer in the communities surrounding the central zone of the capital, which traditionally groups these activities. Through the different quantitative methodological tools used, the capacity and suitability of the area as a receiver of rural tourism is shown.
