Effects of Nts Ts 002 certification in the income and expenses of the accommodation establishment in Santa Marta (Colombia)

Abstract

Until March 2018, 403 accommodation establishments had been certified with the Norma Técnica Sectorial en Turismo Sostenible 002. This paper work shows the effect of this process in the incomes and expenses in seven of ten certified establishments in Santa Marta, for which was developed a descriptive research, with qualitative focus, combining primary and secondary information sources and with a non-probabilistic sampling by the information access. As a result of this research, was found that the main effect was the decrease of the expenses, particularly in the public services. In the same way, a significant increase of the income weren’t evidenced. For ending, the answers of the consulted establishments were based in the environmental effect, omitting the impact of their decisions in the economic and sociocultural topics.
